We have two Apple Xserves in the Dexters' studio, one is currently dedicated to our ImagePortal system, the other runs our back-up software and also controls the Xserve Raid. We have over 1.2Tb of storage space on hot-swappable Ultra-ATA hard drives with two independent controllers. Xserve RAID is designed for nonstop operation, with uninterrupted access to your critical data.
The raid is fully backed up every weekend onto LTO-3 tapes within a Quantum SuperLoader3 16-slot autoloader, this occurs fortnightly to enable us to keep 2 weeks data on backup. As well as the full back-up there is an incremental backup every night to give us a full data recovery should the worst scenario occur.
Dexter Graphics utilises the Heidelberg Printready System, this represents a fully automated, modular prepress workflow. Printready automates everyday routine processes - normalisation, preflighting, colour space conversions, spot colour handling and optional trapping - to optimise data into PPA standard printready PDFs.
Here at Dexters we are continuing to supply IT support for our clients, as well as looking to solve any production problems through technology and creating bespoke workflows to support the clients needs.
